Travel teams:
Michigan Lacrosse Academy (MLXA) is committed to providing a positive, competitive and enjoyable environment for the development of youth lacrosse players within Southwest Michigan. Our coaching staff possesses a very impressive wealth of knowledge, lacrosse playing and coaching experience, which spans decades. The entire staff shares an undying passion for the game of lacrosse and the desire to instill that passion, through proper training of fundamentals and "learned skill-sets", to the young men in our program. MLXA teaches and emphasizes core fundamentals, discipline, good sportsmanship, unity, unselfishness and steadfast commitment to team play, both on and off the field.

Little Laxers:
Michigan Lacrosse Academies (MLXA) little laxers is focused to have fun in a non-competitive atmosphere. Kids will work on the basic fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. There will be an emphasis on basic skills: learning to pass, catch & scoop through small group instruction with various drills and game situations. This section is designed to provide the skills necessary to appreciate the game of lacrosse.

Indoor Leagues 7 vs 7 Modified Field Rules
Our Fall and Winter Leagues are designed to keep you running when the fields outside won’t let you. Our goal is to keep as much integrity to the outdoor field game as we can with the indoor fields at MSA Woodland and MSA Spot.

  • If an athlete is YOUNG for their grade – we typically would like them to play with their grade.

*My son or daughter plays another school sport, is that okay?

We allow and encourage multi-sport athletes at every level, and school sports are excused absences. We do ask that parents and athletes be mindful of conflicts and work to communicate early to their coach.

*Do you make cuts for the Summer Teams?

During our tryouts, we will make every effort to place all players on a team that will allow the players to develop. Cuts are a last resort, and will reflect the needs of a team (ie. Positional, developmental…)

*My son or daughter can’t be there on the scheduled tryout date, what should we do?

If you cannot make the make-up tryout or the regularly scheduled tryout, please contact Dave and we will try our best to make arrangements.

*When does practice for the teams begin?

All teams will be practicing the second week of June.
